BLKSWN was born out of necessity—and built with purpose.

When the global supply chain collapsed during COVID-19, the footwear industry came to a standstill. We couldn’t get shoes in, and we couldn’t get materials out. That’s when we realized it was time to do something bold: bring shoemaking back home.

Founded in Meridian, Mississippi—where our sister company BLOOM Sustainable Materials already called home—BLKSWN was our next step. From raw materials to finished shoes, we’ve reshaped what American manufacturing can look like.

What BLKSWN MEANS

The name BLKSWN comes from the black swan: a rare sight, and a symbol of disruption. That’s who we are. We’re not here to follow trends—we’re here to change the system. We dare to be rare.

Our team builds high-quality leather shoes and shearling slippers, sourcing most of our materials from the U.S. Teaching a new trade from the ground up isn’t easy, but we’ve learned from the best. Every pair is made with precision, pride, and purpose—by people who care about what they’re creating.
